When it rains, it pours...
God is definitely at work in my life. The only way to grow, is though change, and there is definitely change going on all the time! Kris began complaining of some minor numbness Wed PM, and didn't say much Thursday while we visited Ma Ma and my mom too. Friday when I got off work, he said we needed to go to the Emergency room as his whole good leg was numb, weak, and tingling. We called his doctor, and waited for a return call. Of course, I had to work this weekend, so I went to work Sat AM after awakening with a killer cold. And of course, I'm a week late (all 16 tests negative) but just to be sure, didn't take any medicine...
After work I take Kris to the ER where we wait, and wait (major emergencies are priority) and finally get him the medicine that will help repair some of the damage his body is doing to the coverings of the nerve sheath. (now his hand is numb too, by this point) The medicine is delivered 7 hrs after arriving, and a sign in the room says there are comment cards for good/bad comments. We were in hysterics at this point, because the only comment cards left were in SPANISH!!! I wrote no hable espanol and we got a kick out of trying to understand and answer the questionaire. I speak and read spanish the way Tonto from Lone Ranger spoke english: me Tonto, go eat here? Our nurse got a good laugh too. Not to sound perfect though: I had a little break down after 5 hrs and Kris let me leave to get some sudafed and let Bella out. Did I mention I am the WORST sick person! I'm not usually sick, and tend to moan and sign alot (for some reason Kris finds this annoying) but at least I can feel my left side...
I worked again this Am, and am taking him again for another ER stent (I wonder if the same news will play over and over again in the waiting room.) So obviously, patience is the test of the week. Maybe, I'll get over this stinking cold and start my stupid period and get on with not being pregnant...arghh. So sorry Em and Abbie, there won't be a threesome anytime soon: the steriods he's on make it pretty impossible. Patience. I know God knows best. What would we have done with a kid yesterday? Leave it with Bella??? Oh well. Patience. Thanks for all your prayers and this cathartic writing tool. Maybe, the questionnaires will be in French today and we can see what Kris remembers from highschool...

Y'all are in my prayers and I hope the sun will come out soon!! God's lessons on patience aren't usually much fun...just keep reminding yourself that He knows what He's doing.
One more thing...how can you not remember any Spanish!! We took two whole years of it in high school! Miss Knight would be ashamed of us!! The only thing I can say is "El mosquito es un insecto". Does that ring a bell :) (have no idea if I even spelled that right)
Thanks Karanena!
Impressed that you remembered that: see what I remember from high school is the song: yo quiero un amigo que se llama, se llama, se llama, yo quiero un amigo que se llama, su nombre es Jesus...
AND I had to take more in college: I learned some, but if you don't use it, you lose it. I do pick up on key words and phrases, and can usually get my point across to my patients. (gestures help alot) I always feel like I'm playing charades...
AND, I read your post on Emily's: here's my answer to the horses:
Sir still lives on the farm: my mother feeds him daily and he is treated like a large dog. My horse Prince had to be sold when I went to college (my mom didn't like him) and the lady that owns him treats him really well. Duke (aka Lucky) was my mom's pet project: the really old one with mange, vision loss, balance problems, etc: so appropriately named Lucky hehehe, not surprisingly he died at the ripe old age of 20 (normal) about 4 or 5 yrs ago.
I can still hear Corey saying "Yo taingo un pero!" Last semester I had two hispanic students fresh off the boat and it was so hard to communicate with their parents. "Tuesday" and "Thursday" sound the same to them. The last thing the dad said before they left for Colombia again was:
Me: Have a great Christmas and a good New Year!
Him: Me too!
Praying for you and Kris today. (By the way the way to say "your service is slow and stinky" is: "Sus servicios son lentos y apestosos")
