Vacation!!!
As I'm sure you're aware from my previous post, Kris and I were in need of a vacation. My wonderful bosses granted me a week reprieve, and even gave me an extra day off the week before! So we booked a cruise on the Carnival Dream for peak hurricane week (I like a good deal) and drove to Florida Friday. We spent a day with Kris's parents, then were off to the ship! Once on board, we actually relaxed!
Kris and I had 7 days of quality time! We played cards, watched TV and movies, watched the views from the balcony, ate lovely meals, ordered free room service, and I even taught myself to crochet with a book!
I ate my share of chocolate...and drank some coffee...
Our ship stopped at 3 awesome ports: Bahamas, St Thomas, and St Martin. Each port was better than the last one, and we enjoyed some beautiful beaches, snorkeling, catamaran sailing, and island tours. We then had 2 days on board to just relax and recover. We arrived home Saturday to two happy bichons! My dear coworker Judith stayed here with the princesses and they were happy and in their own home all week!
The Bahamas was slightly overcast, but still lovely. This was our third visit there, and we decided to just go to the straw market and relax. And save our energy for the St Islands!
I love this view of the Atlantis Resort
Sunday night was dress up night, and we ate a wonderful meal and then watched the NY Jets on the big screen by the pool. All dressed up. Cause that's how I roll.
Towel Bunny and Straight Hair
I was inspired by the awful artwork on board...
Those are dancing polar bears. Yep.
Monday was a nice day at sea, and Tuesday was a relaxing day in St. Thomas. We awoke to a humid and hot day, so we stayed on the boat until our excursion after lunch. We hopped on an open air bus to tour the island and made it to one of National Graphics's Top Ten Beaches: Magens Bay Beach!

The beach was awesome!

By far, my favorite port was St. Martin. With a dutch and french side, I could easily spend weeks there and not be bored. One day was not long enough!

Now we are home relaxed with our precious pups! I'm still waiting on our cabin steward to make the bed and room service to bring us coffee...

Liz, so glad you got a much-needed vacation! Looks like y'all had so much fun, just enjoying each other and your beautiful surroundings. I have 2 favorite pics-the one of you by the *lovely* artwork and the last pic of you and Kris-beautiful. The artwork one really makes me think of Laura. Never realized before how much she looks like you!
Miss you!!!
