Ma Ma Update

My dear sweet wonderful grandmother has been in the hospital 2 weeks. Sorry I haven't posted as I never know how much info you all need or want to know! I had to get to Sumter for reliable details as the bits and peices from parents are always third and fourth hand...
So here are the acurate details: almost 3 weeks ago she developed gall stones which made her liver and stomach very upset and sent her to her MD. They were concerned by her dehydration, low blood iron, jaundice, and upset stomach, so admitted her at once to the hospital. Once admitted, she began to improve with those symptoms: her appetite improved, she was no longer dehydrated, and felt quite good. They did, as Ma Ma put it, every test imaginable, and she saw every specialist of MD while admitted. I believe because she was bed bound for almost two weeks, she developed fluid on her lungs which make it very difficult to breathe. Also her blood sugar has been high and difficult to control. She has been making a strange sound with breathing (specifically exhaling,) which of course sparked many more tests...get the picture?

I was encouraged when I saw her Wednesday by her ever positive, pleasant and godly attitude. As always she is taken care of by my selfless Aunt Emily. the family is pulling together to try to help Aunt Emily, her primary caregiver. They have arranged for a few of the sitters to stay overnight at the hospital at least 2-3 days a week and the other siblings try to come for other breaks.
Wednesday I was able to send Aunt Emily out for a few hours of freedom: I LOVE what she did! She went to the cafeteria for a nice leisurely lunch, then took a long walk down main street and browsed the stores, ending up in a 10 cent store and finding a novel about Jesus in America, socks for Ma Ma and getting refreshed.
I was able to help MaMa with lunch, do her hair, transfer her back to bed, and even see Abbie's grandmother who is also in the hospital and responding well to God's healing.
If you want I'll post updates every few days: sorry I assumed everyone knew!
Love you all!

yes, I am glad you gave an update as well. I do pray she gets better and can come back home. What a strong family to pull together and make these kind of sacrifices for others.
