Where has the time gone?
It has been so long since I posted anything: almost a month? Can that be right? There are lots of excuses, but it boils down to no good reason. SO, here is my post.
WORK: going well. I have an amazing coworkers that I really enjoy working with. Everyone is motivated, caring, and they all have different clinical strengths. I fit in well, and enjoy going to work. I'm changing my hours to 10 hr days so I have Wednesdays off. I found that I was working so much that I rarely saw Abbie and the kids, as they go to Sumter most weekends, and I missed my half days off from Loris. So Mcleod, being the wonderful place to work for that it is, said: why not a whole day off? So my new hours are 8-6:30 M,T,Th,Fri. When the rare time comes for me to work a weekend I then get 5 days off after working 8! AND: I don't think I have to work one until December! That's one every 6 months compared to once every three weeks. A really nice change. As with any change, it took some getting used to the new paperwork (computer work) new germs, and new system, but I feel up to par now.
HOME: not so important to me anymore, but it is coming along fine. I haven't really done much since moving in, but we're settling in fine. We've had alot of company doing game nights over 3 weekends for coworkers and new friends. Its been nice to socialize and get to know people. I've made curtains for a few of the windows, but mostly just moved in the stuff from the old house.
KRIS: has had quite an exciting move! His MS is pretty much in remission and he is doing great. He can drive now, and is about to decide on a truck. Another big decision is whether or not to take a new MS drug with some pretty serious side effects. We're praying for guidance. Also, he is sleep walking quite a bit, and taking a new medication to help with that. I have found him all over the house at 2 or 3 in the morning lately: the bathroom pacing, the den with all the lights on, the study with his feet on his desk, and none of this he remembers! I'm scared he'll walk outside, so I sleep lightly to prevent anything scary.
CHURCH: we found a non-denominational church close by that our friends go to that is quite nice. The preacher and music really fit our worship style, and we've both enjoyed it two Sundays in a row. The first chuch we attended was fine, but a little stale: no real study groups or connections there.
FAMILY: we love being so close to Sam, Faith, and only an hour from Laura and Matthew. Also, my parents have been to visit alot, which was unusual at the beach. My father is most impressed with my cooking skills, and if you know our history, there isn't much good to say about that. So its been nice to have a few positive memories with my dad. He said I gave him the best birthday party he's had (steak and potatoes with army decor sent that one right over the top;) Kris and Jim are doing some male bonding and planning a hunting outing when its cooler and Kris has his truck. We're also planning a fishing trip to Abbie's grandparent's lake house when it cools a bit. Ruth and I are taking the kids to the beach soon for a girls (plus 2 yr old boy) outing. I think Laura still expects to stay at my old house! We keep the kids or go over and play whenever we can. Sam has gotten quite used to us and actually calls me Aunt Libba and gives me lots of hugs and kisses. He loves for me to sing silly songs: Last night I sang every song I knew with numbers as he can now count to 15! He'd sing along and sway his head with mine, and then say AGAIN! Those of you who know my little green frog song know it gets quite old singing over and over again, but he LOVES it!
So in conclusion, all is well. I'll add some pictures when I find the cord to do so.

Glad you are settled in and making new friends. Can't wait to see pictures of how you decorated and fixed up your new place! You have the touch for it.

I've so missed your posts, Lizzie! Thanks for updating. I'm thrilled that Kris is doing so much better-and glad you're enjoying your job so much and that you've found a good church. We're on the hunt for one too. We'll be praying for y'all re: the new MS drug.
So glad you're going to get Wed. off. Let me know a Tuesday evening that would be good for y'all to get together.
Love you!
The green frog song...did Miss Knight teach us that? Silly songs can be really useful...they kept us awake driving home from Sumter! You can also try the alphabet memory game once Sam learns his letters (I went to my Gmas house and brought an apple, a bat etc) This one really helped Jeff stay awake because he was laughing so hard at my bad memory... :)
So glad Kris is doing better! What a blessing! And glad you like your new job and the better hours, and being closer to family. God is good and it sounds like you have made a great move. I would like to see pics of the house too when you have time and inspiration. :)
