Happy Memorial Day!

God is so good!
We have had a wonderful Memorial Day today. It began with the first thorough cleaning to our new home since we unpacked all the boxes. Next we had a leisurely breakfast, then my siblings brought their families over and we had a lovely little party. The boys were all about trucks, Laura helped me find a spot for the barbie house and then decorate it,and Jim and Kris were able to find a few moments to play on the computer. The hammock, swing, and 10 patches of backyard grass were utilized, and we had a wonderful time. Here are the highlights:
***Laura had a protective moment when we were playing with wooden cobras from Mexico, and Ruth said, let Matthew see this one. Laura said "NO, let Sam get bitten, not my brother" and I had to choke back the laughter from the mother bear look on Abbie's face! She won't be babysitting Sam anytime soon...
***Sam and Matthew were sitting at the head of the tables during lunch and mimicing everything the other was doing. It was so adorable. Who needs TV when you have 2 two year olds in the house.
***The absolute highlight of the day was when we were all downstairs playing with the "action heros" (boy baribes) and in hysterics from our anticts. We will pump you up, the performance of aerobics, and I'm too sexy for my shoes were among the songs danced to by the shoeless "action heros." The kids laughed at us, but we were the ones crying from our wittiness.
***When Abbie and Jim went home, Ruth, Kris and I took the kids to Target for a good hour and looked around for Karanena and Gracie. Kris and I returned home happy and not even tired! And, the house is clean!

Well, you'd see that if I could get olympus master to work. I can't download my pics from my camera to upload them. Arghh. Oh well, I'm sure my sweetheart will get around to it eventually. Hopefully soon. I start back work Wednesday, and will spend tomorrow upstairs in the playroom, formerly the girl room. Kris has appropriately renamed it as the boys and he are up there quite a bit. He also renamed our second guest room or future nursery "The Disaster Area" which is actually appropriate. But everyone needs one messy room. Right?

Saturday Abbie and I were upstairs in our room while the boys were at Kingstree. We worked on Faith's birth announcements and a few projects after Abbie ran up and down the stairs trying to induce labor. It didn't work, nor did any of the other things we tried. We don't have a radio or cd player up there yet, so we played guess that tune from highschool while we worked (everything from EnVogue's Never Gonna Get it to But there aint nothing wrong with the radie, to DC, DC 91, to yo quero un amigo que se llama....) At one point, I mentioned how blessed I feel to finally live here, and she said "I feel like I'm dreaming! I can't believe you're here!" Weep Weep. God is so good. And now that phone calls are free, we talk a few times a day. Jim and Kris don't understand how we would possibly have anything to talk about after being together all day, but we do! I could call her right now and have a 30 minute conversation! And Sam is so good! He says please and thank you for everything, can switch from hysterical crying to laughing by mention of the word truck, and is still cuddly and loving. He and Bella LOVE eachother and run all over the house together.
Well, thats enough of my ramblings. I'll post a tour of the new house once we figure out how to get the pictures out of the camera. See you soon!

Liz-your place looks so lovely-you've done a marvelous job (as always!) So glad you had such a fun and relaxing Memorial Day. Ours consisted of painting :-), but I did play w/Ella some in her new "animal park" pool outside.

I so wish I had been there with y'all to play "guess that tune from highschool"!!! I have memories of us in your car with the radio blasting "Never Gonna Get It"! :)

Unfortunately, we were not at Target on Monday to see y'all....actually, we were at home...sick. Now Gracie has given it to Danny and me...and she usually doesn't like to share anything! We didn't want to get anyone else sick, so we stayed home. Danny did go over to his parents and brought home some wonderful food-we just had to have our party here :)

Laura, you're too nice! It has a ways to go, but its getting there. So glad you're getting the house ready to sell. Are you allowed to cook? I'm so enjoying the freedom of not showing the house here and being able to cook any smelly dish I want.
Karanena, we have GOT to get together once you're NOT sick!!! Yes, the old vehicle was home to some good times wasn't it! Remember how much fun we had in the mountains? Kris and I are thinking about going to Biltmore for our 10 year anniversary this June. Can it be 10 already?
Hope you feel better and Laura, I'll keep praying for your house to sell.

My fave room is the playroom! It feels like a secret attic up there. I bet the kids just love it. :) We too have a "crap room" (the "Craft Room"). I finally got most of the boxes in there unpacked or just hidden, and now it's just bare and ugly! In fact a lot of the house is still pretty bare, but I will post pics of the study (w/ new curtains!), guest room and music room. There is an AWESOME fabric store close by with gorgeous, luxuriant fabrics. Only problem is wanting to spend too much :( We'll have to take it slow w/ the decorating since we've already spent quite a bit. Anyways I'll post those soon!
Biltmore sounds wonderful :) Have you been there before?
