Abbie and Sam

This is Sam blowing me kisses!

I had a wonderful day with Abbie and Sam. I was able to take off Abbie's actual birthday, and drove to Florence to see her. We had a quiet morning, and I gave Sam one of his Christmas presents early (I couldn't wait, and he'll get so many at once)
Sharon and I found a tool center at a thrift store, and I had a blast refurbishing it with plastic tools and even a construction hat. When I gave it to him, he LOVED it. We played until it was time to go to lunch. Abbie told Sam he could take the drill with him, at which point he picked up the entire thing and wheeled it out the door, down the stairs, down the sidewalk and to the car. We laughed so hard I almost had to change my pants...hehehe. We ended up taking it with us in the car...
We ate at Red Bone Alley. Abbie and I both ordered our favorite: shrimp and grits with a side salad. Sam ordered chicken fingers and veggies. When our salads came, ALL the parents in the room watched amazed as Sam ate most of Abbie's salad. He loves green stuff, the good boy. After he ate some of his meal, he started putting it on my plate, and then got down and played in the cool kids park at the restaurant. He was even good enough to let us go to a few stores and look around.
Sam is so cuddly. He loves to be held, and will come over to me when Abbie and I are talking and pull with both hands on my pants (that's his sign for pick me up). I'll pick him up and he'll put both arms around my neck and lay his head on my shoulders: I just melt. He loves me, and if I go to the bathroom and close the door, he screams. When I go to leave he cries. So he gets christmas presents a month early...Love, aint it grand

Ah, how sweet. I love that he pulled his tool set out to the car. So cute! What a great aunt you are!!! The perfect gift for a little boy. And he loves salad? That's amazing. Ella will eat the occasional tomato but does love cucumbers. No romaine lettuce for her, though. So glad you could see Abbie for her b-day!

Wow, Abbie's hair looks so long in that first pic! I miss Abbett...and have hardly seen Sam! Maybe I should buy her an internet connection for Christmas. Or would she need a computer first!? I hear that she and Jim defy technology...

Yes, my brother is the one that defies technology. He just doesn't care for it. Abbie would love a computer that works and an internet connection. They were going to get one for Christmas, but now with the new baby, there's no where to even put it! I'd LOVE having her on the internet: I'd save alot on long distance calls.

Laura,
I LOVED that he took it out to the car: I'll never forget that and the look on Abbie's face when he went down the stairs and to the car! Cucumbers are some of my favorites too...
